Hi, I’m Blake Russell
I’m a DBT Core Certified therapist who works with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, identity concerns, relationship struggles, and the complicated realities of being human.
My style is warm, relational, nonjudgmental, and honest. I believe meaningful therapy requires more than coping skills alone — it also involves understanding the deeper emotional patterns, protective strategies, and experiences shaping your life.
I’m a mixed-race member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation tribe, a father, and late-night dessert enthusiast.

Weird is the new normal
Too often, people leave important things unsaid out of fear — fear of rejection, being misunderstood, or just seeming weird. Society reinforces these fears with limiting ideas about what parts of the human experience are acceptable
You’re Normal is reclaiming and redefining normalcy. Your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, identity, and experiences are all valid parts of what it means to be human. Here, you can express yourself fully and be heard, understood, and supported
Explore, embrace, and express your personal truths
My professional experience so far has allowed me to understand and help a diverse spectrum of individuals. I’ve guided young adults with emotional disturbances through short-term solutions and toward long-term possibilities. I’ve helped adults needing extra support fulfill their basic needs. I’ve also sat patiently in the darkness with people combatting thoughts of suicide or self-harm.
I practice nonjudgmental, active listening with all of my clients so that I can provide the understanding, support, and challenges you need to heal and grow. Therapy can be difficult, so we will always work at a pace that’s comfortable for you. Even when you laugh or cry, I hope that each session leaves you feeling heard and connected.
These experiences and many more have motivated me to open my own therapy practice.
You may be a good fit for therapy with me if…
- You often overthink and find it hard to relax your mind.
- You appear successful externally but feel off internally
- You have difficulty understanding or expressing emotions
- You feel emotionally disconnected in relationships
- You tend to intellectualize instead of actually feeling things
- You’re hard on yourself no matter how much you accomplish
- You struggle with shame, self-worth, or identity
- You experienced trauma, emotional neglect, or instability growing up
- You want therapy that feels honest, grounded, and human
